I have to say that it’s harder than you would think to find a bakery that makes a cake that tastes as good as it looks and also is within an affordable price range. The bakeries that I researched for weddings either had mediocre looking cakes or seemed to cost as much as your right arm if their design was on par.
Per usual, the best advertising is through reputation and word of mouth. I knew I had found the bakery to contact when about four people at my place of work had used you and had nothing but good things to say. They raved about Villa Italia, including my company itself, which used you for their 10th anniversary party.
The tasting was very professional and enjoyable, and we left on cloud nine still swooning from all the frosting and cake samples. Everything we tasted was phenomenal so it was hard to choose what to do for our own cake! During our meeting you gave great direction as to what styles might suit us best for what type of wedding we were having, how many people, our various options for frosting and layers etc., and on our wedding day the cake was definitely a talking piece…no pun intended (I’ve attached a picture).
Not only was the price reasonable, but also we didn’t want the hassle of having to pick up the cake and worry about how it got to the venue, and the delivery fee was more than fair as well. Delivery went very smoothly and gave us one less thing to worry about on our wedding day.
Our guests not only raved about the beauty of the cake, but more importantly how it tasted, even after all that champagne people were talking about how good the cake was the next day.
Your reputation definitely exceeds you and we will be one more added to the Villa Italia fan club with a high recommend for anyone looking for quality, creative work with more than great value!!!! Thank you Villa Italia!

I just wanted to write you and let you know that everything you provided for our wedding at the Sagamore this past Saturday 8/15 was incredible. Seriously...absolutely incredible. Our guests were raving about all of the dessert, but especially saying it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had!! (Picture attached, since you may not have seen it with our flowers/topper!) I consider myself quite the cake connoisseur (ha!) and was blown away by how good everything was- texture, flavor, consistency of the frosting- everything! I knew Villa Italia was the only place I could trust, and I had zero apprehension about not doing a taste test of any kind beforehand. Technically, I've been taste testing there since I was a kid! Really- everything looked perfect, and was so amazing. We had two pieces of cake I couldn't take back to AZ with us when we left our hotel and I am still quite heartbroken over it! :-)
Thank you- working with you was so easy (I still can't believe we never talked on the phone or met in person), your pricing was very reasonable for the quality, and the quality was out of this world. I plan to provide all of my vendors with honest reviews once I get settled back in here in AZ. If there are any websites that would benefit you the most, please let me know and you will have the highest ratings possible from me! I can assure you we will use Villa Italia again for any other local events, and my family is in there often for random treats. We have been customers for years- that will continue- and you have just secured yourselves about 45 new fans, from our wedding!
I appreciate everything- it truly was even better than what I expected! You guys rock! :-)

"Hi! I just wanted to touch base and let you know that those cupcakes should be illegal for tasting so good! I don't believe I've ever order desserts from any place other than Villa Italia but I have always ordered cakes and I was happy to be able to do something different and happy you guys could accommodate with the cupcakes but I, and the guests, were blown away with how delicious the cupcakes were. So kudos and many compliments!
Thank you for your time in getting this together and please pass along my thanks and compliments to those that worked on this order.
Until our next event,"
"Tricia - Thank you so much for your follow-up. Your service is as good as your cookies! Happy Holidays!"
"My name is Patrick Purcell. Last month I order a chocolate ganache cake. The cake was amazing . Everyone enjoyed it. The filling was perfect and the cake was moist. The cake was for my wife's birthday and she had a wonderful time.
Thanks again for making such a delicious cake."
"Tricia, the manager, was a joy to work with. My husband and I had a blast at the cake tasting, and she was a wealth of ideas and suggestions to make our cake unique and satisfying for our guests. We decided on a 4 tier cake with 3 flavors: red velvet cake/cream cheese filling, chocolate cake/hazelnut filling, and rum cake/raspberry jam & vanilla mousse filling. We had a vanilla whip icing that was textured for a more vintage style. All of it was fabulous. The chocolate/hazelnut was a real crowd pleaser!
The Groom's Cake was perhaps even more noteworthy. Rather than having two cakes at our wedding, we chose to serve the groom's cake at our rehearsal dinner, which was held at The Brown Derby (same ownership as Villa Italia). Bobby Mallozzi, head pastry chef, is an incredibly busy man but was fortunately able to fit in a meeting with me to go over a design that would blow my film director husband's mind (I am also camerawoman). The results were spectacular. I think our guests took more photos of the cake than anything else at our rehearsal dinner! You can find photos of our cake on the Villa Italia website. It was truly amazing to see my ideas become a reality, in a cake so beautiful you almost didn't want to cut in to it... but who can resist Villa Italia cake?! It was chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting with fondant to finish. A work of art indeed.
Lastly, in addition to our groom's cake we served Villa Italia's pastries and petit fours at the rehearsal dinner. It was an over the top treat that delighted our guests! You just can't go wrong with this bakery. They are unequivocally the best."
"I wanted to thank you for the beautiful cake for my daughter in law's baby shower. I ordered a 12 inch round marble cake with vanilla custard filling. I left the invitation with a girl at the counter and we talked the next day by phone. I wanted to incorporate some orange color in the cake but was stumped by the design and you suggested an orange cake with white polka dots and lovely phrase "wishing you bundles of joy with your new baby boy". The cake was just perfect; color, decorations, writing. It was a huge hit and the centerpiece of the table.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and the attention to detail. The guests just raved about how beautiful AND delicious the cake was."
Mollie Kohout "I was married over Columbus Day weekend at the Mabee Farm just outside of Schenectady and you provided our wedding cakes (all 7)! I wanted to share a few pictures and to say thank you for your amazing work."
"Tricia, I wanted to send this follow up email and let you know that you guys are amazing. Both Susan and Terry came away from the cake testing experience raving about it. They were completely impressed with the way you knew who they were, your professionalism, and the attention they received. This was their first experience with a "vendor" without the parents and some of our past meetings were rough!
They couldn't say enough great things about the entire experience and it was nice to see them so excited for their wedding cake.
I just needed to email you and let you know that while I know you guys are a first class business, I am glad that the kids were able to experience that and come to the same conclusion. My husband, Jim Callander, works over at Metroplex and while he was not surprised about the great service you gave to the kids, he was going to make sure he mentioned it to one of the Mallozzi's (maybe Johnny?)
Any way, thank you again I really appreciate it!"
